FRP Grating Specifications
Mesh, height, panel size, resin and surface - the full specification set in one place.
How Grating Is Named
A molded grating name carries two facts. The number pair is the bar spacing - the mesh opening in millimetres - and the H number is the panel height.
19*19H30 is a 19 mm mesh in a 30 mm deep panel; 38*152H38 is a 38 by 152 mm rectangular mesh, with load-bearing bars running lengthwise, in a 38 mm deep panel; 50*50H50 is a 50 mm mesh in a 50 mm deep panel.
Pultruded grating is named by load bar profile and series - I-4010, HL-4020, T-1210, T-1215, T-5020 - where the bar shape and depth set the load rating.

By weight a molded panel is about 35% resin, 33% E-glass fiberglass and 31% filler, with the balance additives. The stair tread family also includes the 38*152H38 tread panel.
Pultruded Grating Specifications
| Series | Load bar depth (mm) | Open area | Weight (kg/m²) | Panel sizes (mm) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| I-4010 | 25 | 50% | 17.8 | 1220 or 915 wide x 3050 or 6100 long |
| HL-4020 | 50 | 40% | 70.37 | 1220 or 915 wide x 3050 or 6100 long |
| T-1210 | 25 | 12% | 14.5 | 1220 or 915 wide x 3050 or 6100 long |
| T-1215 | 38 | 12% | 19.6 | 1220 or 915 wide x 3050 or 6100 long |
| T-5020 | 50 | 50% | 15.66 | 1220 or 915 wide x 3050 or 6100 long |
By weight a pultruded panel is about 25% resin, 65% E-glass fiberglass and 8% filler. The deeper the load bar, the higher the load carried along it - see the load capacity guide for the spanning data.

Match the system to the chemical and temperature exposure of the installation. Tell us the environment and we will recommend the resin.
Surface Options
- Groove type: molded-in anti-slip grooves; the standard surface for industrial flooring and walkways.
- Shop sand type: a sanded top surface for extra grip in wet or oily areas.
- Polished type: a smooth finish where a low profile and easy cleaning matter.
- Pultruded grating is supplied with an antiskid grooved top surface on the load bars.
For how the surfaces compare in slip-critical areas, see the anti-slip FRP grating guide.
Ordering Notes
Panels are supplied in the sizes above and cut to your layout. Openings, penetrations and edge infill are easily cut and drilled on site with standard carbide tools; seal cut edges as advised for the service environment. Pre-cut and pre-fitted panels are also available.
Compare the molded and pultruded families in the molded vs pultruded guide, check spanning data in the load capacity guide, or browse the full FRP grating range.
Send your panel list and environment to admin@greenlogy.cn and we will quote the matching specifications.
Frequently Asked Questions
What do the numbers in FRP grating names mean?
In molded grating, the number pair is the bar spacing in millimetres and the H number is the panel height. 19*19H30 is a 19 by 19 mm mesh in a 30 mm deep panel; 50*50H50 is a 50 mm mesh in a 50 mm deep panel. Pultruded grating is named by bar profile and series, such as I-4010 and T-1215.
What panel sizes are available?
Molded panels come up to 1220 x 4000 mm, with some meshes also available in 1524 x 4000 mm and 915 x 3050 mm. Pultruded panels are 1220 or 915 mm wide and 3050 or 6100 mm long. Panels are cut to size for the job.
What open area do FRP grating meshes have?
From 40% for 19*19H30 up to 78% for 50*50H50 in molded grating, and from 12% for the closed-surface T-series up to 50% for the I-series in pultruded grating. More open area means better drainage, snow shedding and vision through the panel.
How do I choose a resin system?
Match the resin to the chemical and temperature exposure: orthophthalic and isophthalic for general service, vinyl ester for severe acids and alkalis, phenolic for maximum flame resistance and low smoke, and food-grade isophthalic for food processing areas.
Can FRP grating be cut on site?
Yes. Panels are easily cut and drilled with standard carbide tools for openings, penetrations and edge infill. Seal cut edges as advised for the service environment. We can also supply pre-cut and pre-fitted panels.
