FRP and Industrial Products, Plus Technical Services
This page brings together Greenlogy TEC's FRP products, steel grating and wire rope, together with industrial technical services for plants and projects, so you can select by service condition, specification and safety requirement.
Molded and Pultruded FRP Gratings
Molded gratings are manufactured using an open mold process for bi-directional strength and durability; pultruded gratings suit platforms and walkways with load and corrosion requirements.
FRP Profiles, Stairs and Work Platforms
We supply pultruded structural profiles such as beams, angles, tubes and concrete-embedded angles, along with anti-slip stairs, handrails and ergonomic work platform solutions.
Steel Grating, Wire Rope and Technical Services
Steel grating is welded from flat and twisted steel for durability; we also offer wire rope, plus industrial technical services including DCS control systems, industrial software and website engineering.

Steel Gratings
Steel grating is flat steel and twisted steel welded together: durable, and more affordable than other decking materials.
Steel Wire Rope
Steel wire rope is made by laying strands of steel wire around a core and twisting them into a spiral rope.
FRP resists a wide range of chemical media, lasts a long time, never rusts, needs no maintenance, and is light, strong, easy to cut and install and pleasant to look at. In a production area with corrosive gases or liquids, metal corrodes quickly even with protective coatings, which affects safety, slows production and raises maintenance costs. Greenlogy FRP does not have that problem. Our FRP production, use and sales are already standardised, serialised and commercialised, and demand is high: in corrosive environments FRP is the most economical material to use.
Matching a Product Line to the Service Condition
The range above spans two material families and several product lines. In practice the choice is settled by three questions: what the surface has to carry, what is in the air or on the floor, and how far apart the supports are. The table maps the common cases to the line we would start from.
| Service condition | Start from | Why that line |
|---|---|---|
| Chemical plant, wastewater tank area, food or beverage production floor | Molded FRP grating | The moulded panel carries load in both directions, so a concentrated load does not depend on which way the panel was laid, and there is no metal in the deck to corrode. |
| Walkway between supports spaced far apart | Pultruded FRP grating | Glass fibre runs continuously along each bearing bar, which is what a longer unsupported span asks for. |
| Forklifts, trolleys or vehicle traffic on the deck | High-load molded grating / high-load pultruded grating | Both high-load ranges are built for wheeled traffic; span and support spacing decide which of the two fits. |
| Offshore platform, vessel deck, fire-critical area | Phenolic pultruded grating | The phenolic range is made to meet USCG Level 2 approval criteria for vessels and offshore platforms. |
| Stairs, ladders and guardrail along the same access route | FRP stairs / ladders / guardrail and handrail | Anti-slip treads, non-conductive ladders and corrosion-free handrail are specified together with the deck, not after it. |
| Framing that carries the deck: beams, columns, bracing | Pultruded structural shapes | Channels, I-beams, angles and tubes are pultruded with the glass running along the profile, which suits members loaded axially. |
| Pump, filter or instrument standing on a corrosive floor | Metering pump stands | Floor and wall mounted stands built from moulded grating, solid FRP plate and structural shapes. |
A single project often uses several lines at once: pultruded grating over steel supports, moulded panels at the tank bund, and pultruded profiles for the frame that ties them together. Sizing the deck is the first step, because the deck decides the span, and the span decides the supporting structure.
Molded or Pultruded: What Actually Changes
The two FRP gratings look much the same from above and behave differently under load. The difference is in how the panel is made, and it decides which direction the strength runs.
| Property | Molded | Pultruded |
|---|---|---|
| How it is made | Glass fibre laid in an open mould and cast in resin | Fibre pulled continuously through a die and cured with resin |
| Direction of strength | Bi-directional: the grid carries load on both axes | Uni-directional: the bearing bars carry along the span |
| Span | Suited to shorter support spacing, where panels sit close to their bearers | The line used where longer support spans are required |
| Traffic | Standard range for pedestrian platforms; high-load range for forklifts | Standard range for long walkways; high-load range for vehicles |
| Options in the range | Covered solid top, conductive (anti-static) top, 87% open screening, dock panels meeting ADA and US Corps of Engineers criteria, a resin system tested to inhibit bacterial growth | Phenolic panels to USCG Level 2, interlocking solid flooring for trenches and tank covers, barefoot public access panels, specialty sections to drawing |
| The usual mistake | Specifying a moulded panel across a span it was never sized for | Specifying pultruded where the load lands as a point on both axes |
If the span and the load are both known, the question answers itself; if they are not, send the drawing and we will run the two lines against each other.
What to Send With an Enquiry
A quotation comes back usable when the enquiry carries six things. Most of them are on a single general arrangement drawing.
- Application and location: indoor walkway, outdoor platform, dock, vessel deck, trench or tank cover, stair tower.
- Span between supports and the load: point load or distributed load, with the wheel, foot or equipment footprint that carries it.
- Panel size, depth and mesh: the area to cover, how panels will be cut and lifted, and the mesh that matches the load.
- Resin and surface: the chemical exposure the deck sees, whether the surface must be gritted, solid-topped or anti-static, and any fire performance requirement.
- Environment: UV exposure, salt spray, temperature range and anything that affects colour or finish.
- Quantity, delivery and drawings: panel count, required date and the drawing set the parts are cut against.
For a first estimate of deck loading, the grating load calculator takes a span and a load and returns the panel that carries it. Structural profiles are quoted against drawings, and custom pultrusions are assessed from the same set.
Steel Grating, Wire Rope and the Rest of the Range
Not every floor is a corrosion problem. Steel grating, welded from flat and twisted steel, stays the economical answer for dry, hot or high-impact areas, and FRP and steel panels are often used side by side in the same plant. Wire rope covers the lifting and lashing side of the same projects, and its published breaking strengths sit in the steel wire rope data.
Accessories, fasteners, custom sections and one-off solutions are grouped under the complementary products line, so a package can leave as one delivery against one drawing.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is pultruded grating stronger than molded grating?
Not in general: they are strong in different directions. Pultruded bearing bars carry more load along the span, which is why they are used where supports are further apart. Molded panels carry load on both axes, which suits concentrated loads and layouts where panels are cut and turned. The comparison only means something once the span, the support spacing and the direction of the load are known.
Can FRP grating replace steel grating?
In wet, chemical or coastal service it usually can, and it removes the repainting cycle that steel needs. Where the floor takes heavy impact, sustained high temperature, or needs steel stiffness over a long span, steel remains the better answer. We supply both, so the comparison can be made on the same drawing rather than in the abstract.
What is the difference between a standard and a high-load range?
The standard ranges are built for pedestrian access. The high-load ranges are engineered for forklifts, trolleys and vehicular traffic, and exist in both molded and pultruded form. Read the span first, then the wheel loads: a high-load panel on too long a span is a worse answer than a standard panel with closer supports.
